ABOUT US

History

NewAge Industries, AdvantaPure’s parent company, started as a dream of Raymond Baker’s back in 1954.

It was in that year that this young salesman-turned-entrepreneur purchased a small company that manufactured and imported metal hardness testers. A year later while on a business trip in England, he found a revolutionary new product that he felt was just what was needed back in the states—a clear, nylon braid reinforced, flexible PVC hose. It didn’t fit the hardness tester business, so he started a second business with this new product, NYLOBRADE®.

1962

The company outgrows its first building in Bala Cynwyd and moves to Jenkintown, where it will stay for another two moves, each time relocating to larger accommodations. Several new PVC products are introduced to expand NewAge’s product line.

1975

Willow Grove becomes the new home of NewAge. A large building on a corner lot allows the company more warehouse space, leading to the offering of more tubing materials.

1984

Ken Hicks, who ran the plastic tubing side of the business, retires and Baker brings on his son, Ken.

1992

The company begins manufacturing its own plastic tubing and reinforced hose. Nylobrade, Urebrade® and Superthane® are the first products made by NewAge.

1998

NewAge begins manufacturing its own silicone tubing and reinforced hose, known as Silcon® and Silbrade®.

2000

NewAge completes its fifth location move to Southampton, PA, allowing for more warehouse space, a larger manufacturing area, and significant product line expansion.

In the same year, NewAge is encouraged to investigate the tubing needs of the high purity pharmaceutical and biopharm industries. The company does so, and AdvantaPure® is launched.

2004

The company begins molding manifold connections and BioClosure® stopper assemblies. These Single-Use options are the start of an array of products designed for the biopharm industry.

2006

The ESOP – Employee Stock Ownership Plan – is established, giving team members a 30% stake in the company at no cost to them.

2011

NewAge Industries adopts a sustainability initiative and embraces alternative energy. Over 4,000 solar panels are installed on the roof of the company’s headquarters, and the power system has the capacity to produce up to one megawatt continuously.

That same year, Verigenics®, the RFID technology division of NewAge Industries, is launched. This division offers innovative solutions to enable medical device, pharmaceutical and other regulated companies to track and authenticate consumables, assets and equipment using radio frequency identification.

2013

Another 10% of the company is sold to the ESOP, making team members 40% owners. In another three years, the ESOP will own 49% of NewAge.

2017

An additional 43,000 square feet of vacant warehouse space at NewAge is renovated for additional clean rooms and storage for AdvantaPure products.

2019

NewAge addresses the need for high quality tubing and hose products for craft brewing, home brewing and dispensing and BrewSavor® is launched.

The remaining 51% of the company is sold to the ESOP and NewAge becomes 100% employee owned.

2020

NewAge Industries purchases a second facility within seven miles of its corporate headquarters with 97,000 additional square feet for production, warehouse and office space.

AdvantaPure products are designated “essential” in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
